Minimum Energy Analysis for Robust Gaussian Joint Source-Channel Coding with a Square-Law Profile
Abstract: A distortion-noise profile is a function indicating the maximum allowed source distortion value for each noise level in the channel. In this paper, the minimum energy required to achieve a distortion noise profile is studied for Gaussian sources which are transmitted robustly over Gaussian channels. We provide improved lower and upper bounds for the minimum energy behavior of the square-law profile using a family of lower bounds and our proposed coding scheme.
